I had the privilege of laying a wreath on behalf of Sisters in Service at the Remembrance service in Derby.

I’ll be honest. This is the first time I’ve been on parade since about 2011/2012. If I hadn’t been asked by Gemma Saunders (one of the co-founders of the network) to lay the wreath, this would probably have been another year I didn’t attend.

We see so many Veterans/Service personnel proudly attending parades.

Yet there are also those who find it difficult to go to them.

I’m one of the latter.

This does not mean that I have never marked the day. I’ve just done it in my own way.

Remembrance is very personal to each person. There is no right or wrong way to do it.

Today and everyday, I remember those I have served with who died in service and the bereaved military families/indivuals I have supported in all of my roles over the years.

It was lovely to be part of a Remembrance service again (and also not having to squeeze into my No.2’s in the process - IYKYK 🙈😆)

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM 💖
